Crime Alert - Assault with a Deadly Weapon

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) are actively investigating a report of gunshots near Howard University's main campus. It was reported that gunshots were fired at approximately 12:05 a.m. at Georgia Avenue and Fairmont Street, NW, and a student reported to Howard University Hospital with injuries. Crime Alert - Shooting

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is actively investigating a shooting in the 1800 block of 7th Street at approximately 2:45 p.m. A lookout has been established for two Black males, one wearing traditional middle eastern-styled attire. The other suspect was seen wearing a white t-shirt and black pants. Both were last seen heading southbound towards S Street. Preliminary details suggest that no Howard University stakeholders are involved in this isolated incident.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is actively investigating a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of V Street N.W. at approximately 5:20 p.m. A lookout has been established for a red sports utility vehicle last seen driving eastbound on V St. Preliminary details suggest that no Howard-affiliated community members were involved with or impacted by this incident.

Armed Carjacking - May 26

Armed Carjacking

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is actively investigating an armed carjacking that occurred this morning at approximately 1:40 a.m. in the 2100 block of 9th Street NW. 

The complainant is not affiliated with Howard University, and the vehicle stolen is a black or dark blue 2009 BMW bearing MD license plate # 7EB3241.  A lookout has been issued for two male suspects armed with a handgun who exited a white Q35 Infinity with Texas license plates. Plate numbers are unavailable at this time.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is actively investigating an Armed Robbery that occurred at 12:15am at 8th St. and Barry Street, NW. Lookout is for a black male, wearing all black and a ski mask. The complainants are HU students, neither were injured.
