Blue Light Emergency Phones
The Howard University Department of Public Safety currently has 87 Emergency Call boxes strategically deployed throughout the University to include the East and West campuses.
These boxes can be activated by pressing the red button on the unit. Upon pressing the button, you are able to communicate 24x7 directly to our SOCC (Security Operations Center) and state your emergency request.
The activation of the call box will automatically prompt a map to populate in the SOCC along with one of the locations listed on the following list, click here. The dispatcher will then promptly send an officer to your aide. In fact, the Department of Public Safety will dispatch an officer each time a box is activated even if they are unable to hear the caller.
