Crime Alert - Attempted Armed Robbery
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating an attempted armed robbery reported at approximately 3:45 a.m. in the 2800 block of Georgia Ave., NW.
A lookout has been established for two Black males who approached the scene in a black Toyota RAV 4. The suspects reportedly got out of the vehicle, one entered the passenger side of the complainant's vehicle, pointed a gun at the complainant and demanded all valuables. The complainant reports knocking the gun out of the suspect's hand and running on foot. The suspects fled southbound on Georgia Ave. in the RAV 4 towards Barry Pl., NW.
Preliminary details of the investigation suggest that the complainant and suspected individuals are not affiliated with Howard University.
